Barcelona Airport: N16 and N17 Night Bus: Transfer Bus between Airport and Plaça Catalunya via Plaça Espanya
If you will be arriving in Barcelona late at night when the other methods of public transport have stopped and you do not want to take a taxi, you will need to take the N16 or N17 Night Bus.
You may use a T-10 ticket on the N16 and N17 Night Bus, otherwise a single journey ticket per person is charged. A T-10 ticket (1 zone) allows you to use 10 journeys on any Barcelona public transport service and you can buy it at any metro station.

IMPORTANT: If you are travelling in and around the ‘crossover’ period with the N16, N17 night buses or 46 day bus, it is a better bet to head to Plaça Espanya where all of these buses make pickups. The 46 bus DOES NOT travel to and from Plaça Catalunya! It only travels to and from Plaça Espanya!
Buses run every 20 minutes approximately and the journey time on the N16 or N17 Night Bus takes around 55 minutes. Both have several stops along the way and also stop at Plaça Espanya, within the Sants-Montjuïc district.
Unless you know the city of Barcelona reasonably well, we would suggest heading for the busier areas of Plaça Espanya or Plaça Catalunya. Late at night, your only option to travel onwards to your accommodation would be via taxi. Yet, doing it this way is far cheaper than taking a cab straight from the airport and these two main areas will be relatively full of taxi’s seeking a fare!
When using the N16 or N17 Night Bus to travel back to Barcelona-El Prat Airport you will need to head over to Plaça Catalunya and seek the bus stop where Ronda Universitat meets Plaça Catalunya. The bus will head from there towards the airport corresponding Terminal.
The N16 and N17 Night Bus are fully equipped to cater for wheelchair users.
