Barcelona Beaches: Mar Bella Beach

Spanning 512 metres to the East of the Barcelona coastline, this beach was built after the coastal redevelopment as a result of the 1992 Olympic Games.

Users of this beach are mainly young people, particularly the gay population, and locals from the nearby Sant Marti district

Mar Bella Beach also has a designated nudist beach area and next to the Bac de Roda breakwater there is a children's play area, a volleyball court, a skating area (watch the skaters performing daredevil acrobatics) and ping-pong table.

At the Western end of the beach there is a watersports centre and a Beach Library is also set up on the breakwater in July and August.

The beach is easily accessed by metro, bus, tram and bike.
