Description

Get ready for a jam-packed morning discovering Gaudì. Together with your passionate, local guide, you’ll enter La Pedrera, stroll down the Passeig de Gracia, learn about Casa Amatller and stop for a local coffee outside Casa Batlló – you can add tickets to explore freely. Rosa, one of our local guides, says, ‘Gaudì is totally unique to Barcelona and a trip to his houses is a must, especially in the early morning when it’s quiet. His work is a vibrant fusion of the natural and human world and will take your breath away.’ Step inside the impressive La Pedrera, also known as Casa Milà – Gaudì’s final masterpiece and UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll learn all about the Calatan architect as you follow your guide, strolling through the apartments, whale attic, flower courtyard – not to mention the twirling chimneys on the roof. Step outside and walk along Passeig de Gracia, ‘this street is full of beautiful Modernist buildings created by remarkable architects and is known as ‘the block of discord’ – there was some competition’, says Rosa. You’ll approach next-door neighbours Casa Amatller – listen to fun facts about this house – and Gaudì’s Casa Batlló. Its fantastical colours will amaze you. Stop for a local coffee and learn all about it as you embrace Catalan culture. ‘You’ll listen to different interpretations of the design. Look at its wavy blue facade inspired by marine life, or see how it links to Catalonia’s patron Saint George with its dragon-like scaled roof’, adds Rosa. Tickets are available to add on so you can go inside the house yourselves.
