Learn the art of traditional mosaic making at a workshop in Poblenou, Barcelona. Assemble and paint your own mosaic coaster set from scratch. Learn about basic Islamic geometric patterns and how to assemble classic designs found across Spain and the Middle East. Begin with a quick, accessible introduction to Islamic geometric art, answering questions like: Where did it come from? Who invented these patterns? How were the mosaics traditionally made? And most importantly – what does it take to become a master of mosaics yourself? Choose from a huge selection of interchangeable tiles to build the pattern you want. Use a reference to some of the most famous patterns and where they came from so that you can make something truly authentic. Alternatively, invent your own pattern! Paint your tiles with a range of high-quality ceramic paints that can be combined to make any color you choose. Once you’ve painted your tiles, assemble your coaster with guidance on achieving the perfect finish, ready to take home. Finish the workshop by taking the time to admire each other’s work!
