The mall La Maquinista is a strip mall. Structured as an oasis of individual full urban area concentrated fashion, leisure, catering and food, is the largest shopping center Catalunya. It has a built area of over 250,000 m2. Of these, 90,000 m2 are intended for trade and leisure. The rest are divided between the broad areas for visitors. The mall La Maquinista has 3 levels (high plants, street and down) and it has 5,350 parking spaces.
The mall La Maquinista is closely linked to its environment. It was born with the Barcelona urban renewal project in the district of Sant Andreu and pioneered as a strip mall.
Currently the urban change in their environment is under development culminating its expansion with the new AVE train station-Sagrera.
