Description
Your tour begins at the fountain in Plaça Reial, where your guide will welcome you and provide a brief introduction to the city. From there, you will cycle through the backstreets of the Gothic Quarter, passing medieval buildings, hidden squares, and historic façades before arriving at Plaça del Rei, once the political center of medieval Barcelona.
Continue past the Barcelona Cathedral, an example of Catalan Gothic architecture, and the Palau de la Música Catalana, known for its elaborate façade, mosaics, and stained-glass details. Leaving the old city, head toward Ciutadella Park, stopping at the Arc de Triomf, an iconic monument from the 1888 World Fair. In the park, you can enjoy a relaxed stroll through the gardens and fountains, with an opportunity to refresh before continuing.
Next, cycle to La Sagrada Família, Gaudí’s unfinished basilica and one of Europe’s most visited monuments. Take time for photos and learn about the architectural vision behind this major work. The tour then proceeds to the coastline, where you will ride along the Mediterranean waterfront and experience the sea breeze outside the historic center.
The tour concludes cycling through El Born, a neighborhood known for its artistic atmosphere and narrow streets, with a final stop at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, a significant example of Catalan Gothic architecture. From there, return to Plaça Reial to complete the circuit through Barcelona’s history, architecture, and seaside areas.
