El Poble Espanyol
Barcelona
Located on the Montjuïc Mountain, the Poble Espanyol was built in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exhibition and conceived as a real village. It was the pavilion dedicated to art and the aim was to build a site that would be a synthesis of several Spanish villages.
It 117 full-scale replicas of buildings, squares and streets from different regions of Spain reproduces a Poble (village) where to go for a stroll around the Spanish architecture. It is also a fantastic venue for the summer evenings with restaurants, bars and a lively nightlife. Several events and festivals take place during that period.
