Description

Discover the main hand-modeling techniques at Casa Blau – El Taller, a creative space located in the Sant Antoni neighborhood in central Barcelona, where you'll learn how to create your own ceramic set in a relaxed, bright, and welcoming environment. Inside Casa Blau, you'll also find Laboyana Café, our specialty coffee shop, where we prepare the breakfast or snack included in the Experience. Everything is included in the price. Materials, tools, glazing, double firing, and a specialty breakfast or snack from Laboyana Café. Just come with a desire to create; we'll take care of the rest. During the 3-hour workshop, you'll learn the main hand-building techniques, such as pinch, slab and coil building, together with our team of ceramists. You'll create a set of two ceramic pieces, which can be cups, bowls, small plates, or any combination you prefer. If you like, you can also make two identical pieces, such as a set of two cups or two bowls. Once you have shaped your pieces, you will have time to personalize them with textures and decorate them with colored slips. At the end of the session, we'll take care of the clear glazing and double firing so that you receive your pieces completely finished and ready to use. They are microwave-, oven-, and dishwasher-safe. During the workshop, you'll enjoy a breakfast or snack prepared by Laboyana Café, our specialty café, which is also included in the experience. The pieces will be ready approximately 3 weeks after the workshop, and you can pick them up at Casa Blau. If you are traveling or live outside of Barcelona, we also offer national and international shipping. Shipping costs are not included and depend on the destination.

Important Information

• No previous experience is required. Activity for ages 7 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult throughout the activity. Activity available in English and Spanish. Everything is included in the price: materials, tools, decoration with engobes, enameling, double firing, and breakfast or a snack at Laboyana Café. The pieces will be ready for collection approximately 3 weeks after the activity. If necessary, we can ship your pieces to any country. The cost of shipping is not included and will depend on the destination. Each piece is made entirely by hand and fired in a ceramic kiln. Therefore, there may be small variations in shape, size, color, or finish, making each piece unique.
