Description

Discover Montjuïc on a private family tour specially designed for children aged 5 to 12 and their families. This experience combines history, panoramic views, nature and discovery, allowing younger travelers to stay engaged while the whole family enjoys one of Barcelona’s most fascinating areas.

The adventure begins with a ride on the Montjuïc Funicular, followed by the cable car up to the top of the hill. As you rise above the city, enjoy impressive views over Barcelona, the coastline and the port.

At the top, you’ll discover Montjuïc Castle and learn about the history of the hill in a clear, accessible and engaging way. Rather than simply listening to facts, children are encouraged to observe, ask questions and take part in the experience as the tour unfolds.

Each child receives a specially designed map to complete throughout the tour. Along the route, they will follow clues, identify details and discover stories connected to the places they visit, turning the walk into an active and memorable way to explore Montjuïc.

From the castle, the tour continues downhill through some of Montjuïc’s most scenic areas. You’ll stop at viewpoints with wide panoramic views over Barcelona and its busy port, discover gardens and outdoor spaces, and pass sculptures, monuments and hidden details that are easy to miss when exploring on your own.

There is also time for children to enjoy the outdoor slides along the route before continuing through the gardens. The pace is relaxed and adapted to families, with time to stop, enjoy the views and take photographs.

Throughout the experience, you’ll discover how Montjuïc has played an important role in Barcelona’s history while also enjoying its greener and more playful side.

At the end of the tour, families can choose how they would like to continue their journey. You can return by funicular, walk downhill for approximately 15 minutes, or choose an especially memorable finale by taking the historic Port Cable Car toward Barceloneta, crossing above the harbour with spectacular aerial views of the waterfront and city.

At the end of the experience, each young explorer can take home their completed activity map as a special souvenir of their Montjuïc adventure.

• The tour is designed for children aged 5 to 12 and their families. This is an outdoor tour. Monument interiors are not visited, including Montjuïc Castle. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer months.

  At the end of the tour, families can choose to return by funicular, walk downhill for approximately 15 minutes, or take the Port Cable Car toward Barceloneta. The Port Cable Car ticket is not included.
