Description
Depart Barcelona in a private air-conditioned van with an expert guide for a scenic drive to Montserrat Monastery, located 2,380 feet above sea level on a distinctive rock formation. Discover the Benedictine abbey, home to the Black Madonna shrine and set within Montserrat Natural Park, known for its unique rock formations and diverse flora and fauna.
Explore the monastery’s architecture and history, including a visit to the Santa Cova (Holy Grotto), a legendary pilgrimage site. After the cultural visit, travel to the Penedes region, the center of Catalonia’s sparkling wine production. Visit a family-run cava winery established in 1872 to learn about the traditional methods used to produce cava.
