This combo ticket covers two photo museums a five-minute walk apart in central Barcelona, and you do not have to visit them on the same day.
At the Museum of Illusions, Carrer del Pintor Fortuny 17, everything is hand-painted: more than 30 three-dimensional murals across 600 m2, drawn by artists straight onto the walls. Step into Casa Mila, dodge a great white shark, tame a dragon and pose with pop-culture heroes. The illusions here are trick art you walk into for the photo, and at the entrance the staff will show you how to find the best angle. Most guests spend 30 to 45 minutes at the Museum of Illusions, and nobody moves you along. At the Museum of Illusions ticket desk you can borrow a free phone tripod, subject to availability: take your own photos, even if you come alone or as a couple.
Big Fun Museum is five minutes away on foot, at La Rambla de Sant Josep 88-94. The ticket opens all eight themed museums at that address, among them the mirror maze and the Upside Down House, where beds sit on the ceiling and a motorbike hangs above the garage, plus museums built around sweets, giants, magic and world records. Plan on about two hours for both museums.
Both museums are fully indoors, which makes this a good plan for a rainy day or a hot afternoon, and both are family-friendly. Children under 5 enter free. There is no time slot to pick: show the QR code at each entrance during opening hours, 11:00 to 19:00 Sunday to Thursday and 11:00 to 21:00 on Friday and Saturday, last entry 30 minutes before closing.
