Funicular Railway to Montjuïc Mountain

If you want to get up to the Montjuïc Mountain for a bird’s eye view of Barcelona, the Montjuïc Funicular Railway is the easiest way to do so!
 
A ticket costs the same as a single journey ticket by bus or metro. If you have a multi-use ticket T-10, you can also use it here! Tickets may be purchased inside Paral-lel Metro Station.
 
Price for a Single Ticket = 2,15 €
 
Price for a T-10 ticket = 10,30 €
 
Children under 4 travel free on Barcelona Funicular Railway to Montjuïc Mountain as well as on buses, metro, FGC trains and trams.
 
The Funicular Railway to Montjuïc can be accessed at Paral-lel metro station which is on L2 and L3.

The Funicular Railway to Montjuïc was built in 1928 and underwent a significant overhaul in 1992 due to the celebration of the Olympic Games in Barcelona.
 
In only 2 minutes and at a speed of 36km/h it takes you to the Parc de Montjuïc area, from which point you can take the cable car to the top of the Montjuïc Mountain.
 
The Funicular Railway to Montjuïc is the most time-efficient method of reaching the Montjuïc Mountain but if you prefer the scenic route and a lovely walk, you should head to Plaça Espanya using the metro and walk up from there.
 
It takes around ten minutes to get up the hill, yet a lot of it is serviced by outdoor escalators. Just head for the beautiful Palau Nacional (National Palace).
