Cava Llopart
Barcelona
With their passionate dedication to viticulture over the centuries the Llopart family still follows the same ageing processes for wines and caves (sparkling wines) as those documented and dated from the XIV century and the unique location of its vineyards boasts excellent Mediterranean weather.
In accordance with the strict traditional 'champenois' method inherited from their ancestors, the Llopart family has added the knowledge and technology to ensure remarkable quality improvements with the outmost care and respect for the environment.
At the end of the XIX century the phylloxera plague, which devastated most of the European vines, also reached the Penedès region. However, the Llopart family were not discouraged and carried out all kinds of initiatives to improve the new vineyards by introducing the most suitable grape varieties to produce the same high quality and complex cava wines as they previously did.
The Llopart Leoparti wine has been awarded the Best Wine of Spain at the Gourmets Guide Awards 2012 and The Huffington Post U.S., named the Llopart Rosé Brut Reserve as the best sparkling wine in the world under $20.
